IRT has many years of product development experience and, although this mainly has been focused within the household products sector, it has provided the company with a very wide-ranging skill and knowledge base which can be applied to the development process of a diverse range of products.
We accept commissions to both match the performance of a subject product or to replicate the formulation of that product.
For example, some of our clients approach us to develop a formulation which matches the performance of a specific product. In this context we recently completed a project for a company which supplies most of the UK supermarkets. This company commissioned IRT to develop a range of products which was similar to a range of very successful branded products. Our client’s brief was to match the performance of each product in that range, rather than to match the precise formulation of each product. This project was concluded successfully and our client is now supplying one of its customers with the range in that customer’s own-label format.
IRT also offers its clients a facility to replicate the formulation of a product. The result of this work is, within reason, a virtual match to the formulation of the subject product and has all the same physical and performance characteristics. The precise brief for this work would be agreed with the client before any development is commenced and will include a review of the potential for patent infringement.
